Intan Muning Harjanti, a woman born in Semarang City, has successfully completed her dissertation manuscript and defended it, with the title “Optimizing Active City Parks as Public Spaces (Case Study: Semarang City)”, through a closed doctoral promotion session led directly by Prof. Dr. Ir. Atiek Suprapti, MT., on March 28 2023, with a cum laude grade. The closed doctoral promotion session was held offline and was declared the 80th doctoral pass in the Architectural and Urban Science Doctoral Program, Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (UNDIP). His dissertation manuscript has been tested by Prof. Dr. Ir. Nany Yuliastuti, MSP and Prof. Dr. Ir. Suzanna Ratih Sari, MM., MA., as the UNDIP internal examiner team in a series of dissertation trials starting from the proposal trial, results trial, feasibility, to the closed doctoral promotion trial. Apart from that, Prof. Ir. Bakti Setiawan, MA., Ph.D., was also involved in testing his dissertation manuscript as an external examiner from Gajah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta. The dissertation manuscript he has prepared is the result of a series of research processes supervised directly by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Imam Buchori, ST., as promoter and Dr. Ars. Ir. Rina Kurniati, MT., as co-promoter, at the UNDIP Architectural and Urban Science Doctoral Program.

For 3 years and 7 months, this woman who was born on September 19 1986 has completed her lecture and research process in the urban science group with a scientific sub-cluster in urban public spaces which focuses on green open spaces in city parks, with Semarang City as the research locus. The research topic raised is related to the optimization of active city parks as public spaces. His research is based on a positivistic deductive paradigm in a quantitative approach. The results of the research show that there are additional new variables that have not been discussed much before in efforts to optimize active city parks as public spaces, namely: park service scale variables, park attractions, park location tags, and park user reviews. Apart from that, the findings can also explain that the location tag variables and park user reviews are variables that appear as variables related to social media, where currently the role of social media is very influential in influencing people’s interest in visiting city parks, which is one of the indicators for optimizing city parks. This also shows that these two variables can appear as aspects of popularity which can strengthen the literature presented by Ketler and Koller (2012), regarding regional marketing mix theory, in this case active city parks, which explains that the influencing variables are product, price, place, and promotion. So the two variables combined into the popularity aspect can contribute to the promotion vari
